Visitors to New Orleans, will step into the city of fun - filled, relaxing ambiance... of a good time; why not stay for comfort and a little spookiness too?- Tonya
I had the pleasure of staying & touring the hotel the weekend of July 20th, 2018 as I was in town for a friends Bachelorlette event. I toured with Concierge - John, to learn the history of this haunted legend...
Before my tour begins, I was shown a huge binder of guests who have signed and made reports of haunting statements, during their stay a the Bourbon Orleans. (Should I check out now-where's the exit?)
Bourbon Orleans is located off of Bourbon & Orleans, thus the name Bourbon Orleans.
I reserved a double bed with a window view.
I brought along one of my best buds and my sister in law.
It was fun to be able to complete a journey such as this...Staying at the Bourbon Orleans, (especially after checking in) and after meeting with John, to him showing me the huge binder of guest reports.

Upon entry, I partake in the mesmerizing rich culture the lobby alone offers. You can't buy 18th century restored beauty like this, if you wanted to. The culture is rich and intertwined in the tiniest of details, from the beginning, to the end.
I'm here for this and all those in 'betweens';
The entrance alone yields fantastic architectural attention to detail.
I immediately know, we're in the right place, a place to call home for a short stay-cation.
About the Tour

Fun Facts
Did you know the hotel offers a haunted tour every week? You'll learn everything you need to know about the #Haunting of the Bourbon Orleans...Or is it?
The most haunting activity has been reported within the late wee hour of the mornings, between the hours of 1:00 am - 3:00 am. -John
As I tour with John, I learned that the hotel was first a theater, prior to 1813? There were guest rooms and a casino added by 1813. Unfortunately, it was consumed by fire 3 years later.
It was then purchased by Mr. Davis. During this time frame, the Lobby was used as a public ballroom. One could attend such events by buying tickets. If one was to compare photos today, from the 19th century, it doesn't change. In 1862, it became a barrack for troops, during the civil war.
It went from being the most elegant place, to a shuttle place. - John
By 1881-1964, it was purchased by Sisters of the Holf Family, whom raised donations, and ultimately purchased the location. It became a school, orphanage, and covenant.
Young women were sent from France during the 18th century.
By 1964, the location is sold and becomes a hotel, however, their story is what leads to the famous vampire/casket legend stories- many boast about today.
We pause for a quick moment as Rebecca- The Director comes by to greet us.
While it really never crossed my mind about leaving, I decided to catch a quick selfie with the Rebecca & Concierge- John, before I finish building my background knowledge about this hotel.

The hotel is recognized as being a pillar in the New Orleans Quarters community.
It has been restored to maximize it's value, which is stunningly remarkable when you talk about restorative attention to detail.
After the sell of the orphanage, covenant, etc..It took 4 years to become a hotel.

One night, it was late. I decided to 'Go Live' in the hallway. I felt a heavy feeling, as if something was there. I ran back to my room as fast as I could.I felt lost..I literally couldn't find my room. When I did find it, I couldn't wait to turn on the lights. -Mark

My Travel Tea Rating:
Price:The price was very reasonable to be in the heart of the French Quarter.
Price Range = $$-$$$
Overall: My TVMA Tea Rating is:

Our stay was very well accommodated. Bourbon Orleans took great care of us. Their staff was on top of things and frequently checked up on us.
We all said our prayers & slept very well. No one in my party of 3 experienced any hauntings.
What I will say is: the Cocktail Punch was very refreshing.
Nevertheless, we all slept like a baby on such soft beds & neat/clean room accommodations.
With Jackson Square's- St. Louis Cathedral - being at the fore front of the views to die for(no punt intended), I couldn't imagine a better place to snap a selfie than outside the door of the Grand Ballroom. I'm sure brides would agree, it's simply breath-taking, even with the boastful sun in my face.

If you need a nice restaurant outside of the Roux on Orleans restaurant, or Bourbon 'O', within walking distance of the Bourbon Orleans- Try Oceana Grill.
I tried the crab-cakes meal, pictured here and enjoyed it.
